The Problem

Rapid development of new, high-resolution brain imaging techniques has outpaced the ability of clinical teams to turn that data into actionable information. The amount of data generated per brain tumor and epilepsy patient has increased 300% from 250MB to 1GB over the last 5 years. Clinical teams devote an enormous amount of (precious high-level) personnel time to the mechanics of analyzing and translating pre-operative imaging and behavioral data into a format that can be shared among multidisciplinary teams for neurosurgical planning.


There is currently no software solution to collect, integrate, and analyze the many different types of brain and behavioral data collected for each neurosurgical patient. As a result, the overwhelming majority of clinical neurosurgical teams in US medical centers do surgical planning using static 2D brain models (e.g., brain pictures pasted into a PowerPoint presentation).
